Rolando Matias

Director of Senior Living Environments, Principal

As the Director of Senior Living Environments, Rolando has managed numerous specialized projects within the context of housing and specifically the elderly care industry. At present he enjoys coordinating all architectural and engineering efforts for significant developments of over $85 million in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Florida.  Rolando has singular control of construction documents, project management and coordination for both conventionally and federally funded projects.

Rolando’s continuous client involvement and management throughout all project phases assures that client directed programmatic requirements and design intent are maintained through the design process. His experience is quite varied, over 20 years in architecture for the elderly including health care facilities, retirement community development, luxury single family homes, luxury multi‐family, elderly and specialized housing, commercial and urban development planning.

Rolando’s collaborated with the Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority to complete 60 new elderly dwelling units upon a site which required demolition, abatement and complete reconstruction of site infrastructure. The project originally tracked LEED for Homes Silver designation, but through effective project management achieved a LEED Platinum Certification.

Rolando has worked successfully with building departments and government agencies locally and internationally to ensure that projects are designed and constructed in full compliance with required development and established code standards, as well as the firm’s standard for quality and client satisfaction.
