Project Overview

Located in the heart of the Short North Arts District and the Victorian Village District, The Dakota provided 44 new condominium residential units with approximately 6,200 square feet of commercial space along the busy economic corridor of North High Street.  The building provided a much needed density boost to the community with a height of five stories and addition of 62 covered parking spaces.  The units provide a mix of one-bedroom and two-bedroom units ranging in size from 750 square feet to approximately 3,200 square feet of livable space.

Designed contextually with its surroundings and approved by the Victorian Village Commission, the building concept and site design were strategically conceptualized to maximize the available site area while coordinating existing grades and maximizing parking. First floor commercial space is provided along the High Street frontage with grade level parking in the rear courtyard and below the rear wing. The building structure utilizes cutting edge detailing and materials comprised of light gage framing and European concrete floor sheathing to provide an economical and high quality end product. Each unit is well appointed with open space and ‘loft’ style finishes and detailing. Many of the units are equipped with balconies providing outdoor living space to this urban location.
