As part of the redevelopment of the existing Adult Day Care Facility in an existing shopping center, Berardi + Partners was engaged to revitalize the existing facility and incorporate a new medical office suite that would work both separately but also in conjunction with the existing Adult Day Care Facility. As codevelopers, National Church Residences and Central Ohio Primary Care Physicians, sought a functional medical grade interior facility with a exterior design that provides a visual impact when approaching the facility – providing an open and inviting interior environment that promotes wellness. The proposed design provides high ceilings allowing for greater percentages of glazing to allow for natural light to penetrate into the space and a focus on durable interior materials focused on sanitization. Additional considerations were high efficiency mechanical units to promote increased indoor air quality as well as large expanses of exterior glazing to provide a connection with the new wellness garden.
